I don’t know if it’s the winter doldrums or my ADD…but it seems like this week I have been such a horrible procrastinator! It’s been a very challenging week with Ethan as he going through some kind of maddening growth spurt/ teething thing–waking up early (like 4am!!!) and being naughty and cranky all day long…I feel like I have a newborn again and I am so not prepared for that!
Ethan has been a serious Monster this week--seems like I got it right with that costume!
So after I spend the majority of my waking hours chasing/scolding/playing with/cleaning/scolding/holding Ethan–my to-do list is the last thing I want to tackle. Let me just tell you my house is really suffering, but I just need some time to unwind by doing thoughtless activities.
In my “real life” I love doing word and logic puzzles (NERD!)–I could do one after the other for hours. In fact, each night before bed…I’m doing sudoku puzzles and more than once I’ve fallen asleep with my head–literally–in the book! I also find watching reality television to be a great way to wind down. Sorry to tell you…I’m not perfect…I do watch (and really LOVE) reality TV. I wish I could say that I was able to wind down by catching up on my scrapbooking or finally getting to the piles of laundry–but after these past few days…it was going to take more!
So I have collected some of my favorite time-wasting links here in case you need to unwind too.
- Not Always Right — Conversations between workers and their customers that will make you laugh outloud!
- Awkward Family Photos– Please just give yourself 10 minutes to scroll through this site. Oh my gosh, it’ll have you thinking twice before your next photo session at Sears!
- Fail Blog– Again, you will be laughing–hard! (Did I mention that NONE of these sites will increase brain power!)
- StumbleUpon– Many of you already know about this, but have you ever spent any time “stumbling” through sites giving thumbs up or thumbs down? It’s great fun…especially if you have the toolbar!
- The Crimson Room– An addictive Game….enough said!
- The Subservient Chicken– Tell this chicken to do anything and it will. Trust me, just click on it…it may be different than you think. Pretty darn funny!
- Looking for a Bible Verse?– I love this site…choose how you’re feeling and it’ll bring up a ton of Bible verses on the topic. (This isn’t necessarily a waste of time…but it’s easy to get caught up in this site)
- I won’t even mention the multitude of blogs that I follow, or Twitter, or facebook…I’m sure each of you know how easy it is to get caught up in social media sites
These sites have been great for me this week, but I hope that by tomorrow I will be back to productivity mode! I’m praying that my little boy is relieved of any pain and discomfort he might be feeling and is able to go back to his normal happy self! But for now, these sites are workin for me!
What are some ways that you unwind without “wasting time”?
I’m in the market for some new blogs to add to my reader–give me a link to some I just can’t miss!!

I love Awkward Photos too!
Another nice one is http://myparentswereawesome.com/
I also like suduku. I’ll also play online versions of solitaire – Addicition Solitaire is a fav – there are lots of free online versions (try Google)
thanks for stopping by!

My little guy would love that monster costume, haha!
Not Always Right is hysterical.
I like YouTube for time suck. There is a poet comedian, Taylor Mali, who has a video called “What do teachers make.” It’s really good. All of his poems are good.
I recently posted a list of the blogs I read…some funny, some financial, some faith, some family. You’re welcome to peruse the list to see if you find anything you like. It can be found here.
Others that I have found but don’t frequent are: Oddlyspecific.com, the oatmeal, Learn From My Fail, What’s After the Credits, Dumblaws.com, postsecret, passive aggressive notes, people of walmart, Cakewrecks.
Surely you can find SOMETHING you like among all that. =)
Singing, dusting off my guitar and picking out a tune, and taking walks or bike rides are some of the ways I unwind fruitfully.

I don’t play any instruments…maybe that’s something I can start!?
