About Ally:
Thanks for stopping by! I’m Ally and I am a 20-something wife and mommy currently living in Lancaster County, PA. In May of 2004 I married the love of my life, Ryan. After a few years of being newlyweds, we decided to start our family! In August of 2008 my little baby boy Ethan Jay was born! Needless to say, that is where my life changed—instantly!
Before becoming a SAHM, we were a 2-income family. This blog is about my journey to contentment — learning to live a more simple life.
To me, being frugal is not just about saving money…it’s about making intentional and well thought out decisions. I know it’s not that simple, but I want to shed all of my superficial baggage. No more rushing from one thing to the next and then all of a sudden it’s bedtime and you wonder how you got there. I want to live an intentional life–the one that God has planned for me.
It won’t be long before we add another little one to our family and having a community of like-minded moms will really help me learn how to balance–or at least let me say, “…so I’m not the only one.” I’m excited to start this journey and to share it with whomever wants to join me.
::HOBBIES:: Reading, writing, loving, naps, doing dishes by hand, cleaning up toys, saving money, praying, cooking, scrapbooking, photography, family, cuddling, and saying, “Can you sit on your bottom, please?”
::OVER THE YEARS::
2002 – Graduated HS in Northern Indiana and head off to Ball State University
2004 – May 8th – Married Ryan!!
2005 – Move to Bloomington, IL for Ryan’s job and start my career in retail
2007 – Off to PA we go! Again- for Ryan’s job
2007 – (Dec) So begins the 9 months of sickness…also known as PREGNANCY!
2008 – August 5 – Ethan Jay was born at 5:16 pm. After 22 hours of labor, 2 hours of pushing…and then an emergency c-section–I gave birth to a healthy 9 lb/4 oz/ 22 in long baby boy! So worth it!

Hi Ally:
Just wanted to thank you for following me on Twitter and that I like your blog. I’m a grandma now, but I was a stay-at-home mom who loved every minute of it. My daughter is now the stay-at-home-mom to my four grandchildren.
I’ve lived on the financial edge most of my life, so if you ever need some frugal hints, I can probably help you out.
Have a wonderful evening.
